After leaving New Orleans we headed straight to Tennessee to visit our friends John and Holly Smith. John & Holly own a 550 acre farm located on an old civil war battlefield. John also runs Crossroads Unique Boutique in Alabama, his store features cool apparel, unique gifts and large selection of footwear. We stayed at the farm for a night before heading down to Alabama for a few days. The best part of the trip was the fireworks and the four wheeler.
While in Memphis, we stopped in to see our friend Shawn at his Kooky Canuck restaurant. Shawn is a great guy and the Canuck is one of those places that is always full of happy people eating great food. You may recognize Shawn from the Travel Channel’s “Man vs Food” which showcased his 7lb “Kookamonga Burger” and we couldn’t resist giving it a try.
Memphis was way cooler than we ever could have imagined. Had we known we would have scheduled some more days to check out downtown Memphis and its wonderful attractions. Extremely nice and friendly people 🙂
To buy a car for under a thousand dollars and drive it from sea to shining sea. "Why?" might be a question that comes to mind, and to that we have the perfect answer: Because we can.
